内容記述 | Nagano prefecture, the proportion of forest land is 79%, and forest land predominates where the conditions for agriculture are poorest and the population sparsest. The forests have many functions and can provide for many uses. The structure and allocation of forests are related closely to the conditions of nature: climate, topography etc.. But the difference of forest type is larger than the difference of natural conditions. Forests had affected the consciousness of regional residents, and the regional residents had affected and changed forests. So the consciousness of regional residents is especially interesting for us. The object of this study was to learn how the regional residents feel and think about their forest environment and to make sure whether the consciousness of regional residents is homogeneously or heterogeneously. The survey regions were selected by the population size and the forest environment. These are the following 13 regions : Nagano-shi, Matsumoto-shi, Suwa-shi, Ina-shi, Tobu-cho, Karuizawa-cho, Agematsu-cho, Hakuba-mura, Nozawaonsen-mura, Kawakami-mura, Sakae-mura, Tenryu-mura, Nagawa-mura. Our study is divided into the following two principal parts: 1) Survey of the forest environment, 2) Survey of the consciousness for forest environment. The survey of the forest environment (forest structure, social and cultural structure) were carried out by field observation. The survey of the consciousness for forest environment were carried out by mailed questionnaire. The mailed questionnaire was directed to samples taken from the whole population of all survey regions. These samples were taken from the voters' list by random-start systematic sampling. The sample size was 200 in each region, 2600 in total, and response rate was 41.0~62.5%, 52.2% on the average. The questionnaire consists of a face sheet and 19 questions which are classified in the following types : 1) The expectation for forests, 2) The concern with forest in daily life, 3) The images of forests, 4) The forests in future. Through the study in Nagano prefecture, we found that the consciousness of regional residents parallelly consists of homogeneous consciousness throughout all survey regions and heterogeneous consciousness in each survey region. The opinions, "forests are effective for conservation of life environment", "man is fond of tree species in forest" and "man should manage forests to keep them", are commonly found in all survey regions. In the consciousness of regional residents, the common consciousness are following: 1) the expectations for conservation of life environment and outdoor recreation, 2) the forest recreation intended to nature observation, 3) the conservation of life environment by means of purification of water and atomosphere, 4) the forest images connected with wood, water, mushroom and playground, 5) the forest fascinations for changes of four seasons, warbles of small birds, fragrances of wood and soil. The regional consciousness are following: 1) the expectations for wood production and conservation of nature, 2) the forest recreations intended to mushroom picking and hiking, 3) the conservation of life environment by means of erosion control and free from anxiety, 4) the forest images connected with small birds, 5) the forest fascinations for water stream and growth of trees. | |||||
