| 内容記述 | 終日厩舎内の馬房で飼養している木曾馬2頭(種雄馬と騙馬)を用いて，連続5日間の行動を観察した。行動を移動，採食，静止，その他(飲水，排尿，排糞)に分類し，分単位で記録し分析した。その結果，2頭の行動別所要時間の平均値は，移動は2.5時間，採食は5～6時間，静止は15～16時間，その他0.5時間，排尿回数7～14回，排糞回数12回，排糞量10.2～11.6kg，飲水回数7～14回であった。2頭とも夜間はほとんど佇立姿勢で睡眠をとり，時折り覚醒し排糞や排尿を行なった。これらの結果から，舎飼い時の木曾馬の行動はかなり規則正しい日周リズムで推移していることが判明した。 | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | The Kiso is a native horse of Japan. This paper describes the behavior of horses under housing for five successive days. The experiments were performed on a stallion and a gelding, both 3 years old Kiso horses. The horses were given feeds 3 times a day, at 6:00, 11:00 and 16:00. Water was available ad libitum from a water bowl. The adjustment period lasted 7 days, the preliminary period 2 days and the observation period required 5 successive days. The usual behaviors of the horse was divided in four: locomotion, ingestion, posture and other (urination, defecation and drinking) and were recorded every minute. The time spent in the locomotion, ingestion, posture and other behaviors of a stallion and a gelding for five successive days are shown in Table 2 and 3. These times were similar for 5 days: 2.5 hr. for locomotion, 5-6 hr. for ingestion, 15-16 hr. for posture and 0.5 hr. for other. The frequency of the urination, defecation and drinking of a stallion and a gelding were 7-14, 12 and 7-14 respectively. These resultes were at constant frequency. But, the number of times of urination and drinking were variable. The changes of the locomotion, ingestion, posture, urination and defecation of a stallion and a gelding for 5 successive days are shown in Fig 1 and 2. Horses were most active during the day. Conclusion the horse has regular habits under housing conditions. Horses appear to sleep in a drowsy standing position. | |||||||||
