| 内容記述 | The present paper reports the effect of foliage thiamin sprays on the growth and yield of kidney beans. Three varieties, Burpee's Stringless Green pod, Masterpiece, and Kentucky Wonder were tested. The results obtained were as follows : 1.Sprays of 1 p. p. m. thiamin solution which concentration was the most effective increased the weight of roots, stems, leaves and pods ;the percentage of perfect bean grains ; the number of leaves, flowerbuds, flowers and pods of kidney beans. 2. Foliage thamin sprays on the beans, promoting the growth, shortened the growing period. 3. The time for foliage thiamin sprays was more effective in the first half than in the latter half of the growing period. 4. Thiamin was absorbed more easily through the lower surface than the upper surface in the kidney bean leaf. 5. The thiamin sprayed on the leaves was accumulated mostly in the tissues with high metabolic activity. | |||||||
