内容記述 | Measurement of the statistical properties of a random field made with transducers of finite size will be affected by the shape and size of the transducer. Expressions for the one-dimensional spectra of turbulence by finite-size transducers are determined using the theory of isotropic turbulence and Kolmogorov's form for the three-dimensional spectrum in an inertial subrange. Theoretical treatments of the effect of instrument averaging are impossible in an anisotropic wave number region lower than inertial subrange. The knowledge about the three-dimensional structure of turbulence is needed. Coherence computed from the spatial correlation measurement in an open channel flow gave the longitudinal and lateral scale of turbulence as functions of passage time of eddy. The length of large eddies is several times as large as the width of eddies. | |||||||
