We prepared three types of the nanocomposites; poly(ethylene-C0-methaclylic acid) doped with copper sulfide (CuS) nanoparticles, poly(acrylic acid) doped with copper iodide (CuI), and nylon 6 doped with silver iodide (AgI) nanoparticles. The former nanocomposite with CuS showed the strong optical absorption of both ultraviolet and near-infrared rays, indicating that the composite is applicable to a solar radiation shielding filter. The wavelength of the near-infrared absorption was controlled by doping of small amount of different metal ions such as C02+ into CuS. This material showed high prevention of heating up under heat-ray irradiation of sunlight. The latter poly(acrylic acid)/CuI and nylon 6/AgI composites could prepared by using iodine-Complex formation character Of the corresponding polymers.
