"医療材料の管理においては、病院経営の効率化に加えて感染防止と医療安全のリスク管理が重視されている。当院で使用している閉鎖式輸液ラインは、複数のメーカーの関連製品を組み合わせて使用しており、部署により異なっていた。そのため閉鎖式輸液ラインの関連製品の種類が多かった。そこで、関連製品を多く使用している部署の状況を調査し、部署の要望を取り入れながら、閉鎖式輸液ラインとその関連製品の標準化に取り組んだ。各部署で使用しているコネクターや延長チューブなどの関連製品を院内で標準化することにより、その品目数を減らし、すべてを在庫品として中央管理することが可能となった。これにより、輸液ラインの接続箇所が減り、専用のデバイスが必要なくなり看護業務の効率化につながった。今まで、部署ごとにおこなっていた取り扱い方法などの看護師への教育は、シンプルとなり病院全体でおこなうことができるようになった。また、閉鎖式輸液ライン関連製品の年間購入金額は、およそ167万円（関連製品の購入額合計の約15%に相当）を削減でき経済効果も得られた。",
