| 内容記述 | We know that we will die one day, but we do not usually know when it will happen. However, we can think how we would like to die. Both thinking about death and being taught by death are what we might term “death education”. Constantly thinking of death will be reflected in our ordinary lives. Death education is necessary for everyone,but especially for medical students, who will routinely encounter the death of patients after graduation. Death education for medical students should therefore be included in medical education. Four courses for death education (group discussion “Life and Death”, a debate class“Organ Transplantation”, an interactive class “Interview with Cancer Patients”, and a clinical clerkship “Palliative Care”) were introduced on a trial basis within a 3-year period. In this paper, the significance and necessity of death education for medical students are discussed. | |||||||||||
