Sixty of 72 colleges or universities surveyed which have medical technology courses, responded to our questionnaire. Fifty-seven percent of schools have genetic engineering and cell technology courses; lecture courses are offered in 18 schools, lecture and practice courses in 14 schools; 12 schools have optional courses at present. The education staff of 90 percent of schools answered that high-technology courses are necessary for medical technicians nowadays. Forty-three percent of schools without these courses have plans to open these courses or additinal courses.
