"大学の初年次教育における数学教育（専門基礎科目）の目的は，それぞれの専門についての勉学をしていくのに必要な数学の基礎的能力の習得である。ところがここ数年，本来は中等教育までに身につけているはずの数学力の低下がみられ，スムーズに初年次教育が進められない状況が起こるようになってきた。本研究では中等教育における数学科の目標のひとつである「事象を数学的に考察し処理する能力」を取り上げ，いくつかの事例により数学力の低下を示すとともに，大学の初年次教育でこの能力を育成するための指導法を提案する。具体的には，数学の講義で演習問題を扱う場合，学生に答案を黒板に書かせ，それを教員が添削するという方法である。またこの指導法を取り入れない授業と取り入れた授業の両方を受講した学生へのアンケート調査により，この指導法を取り入れた授業を学生達が希望していることを示し，最後にこの指導法を実施する場合の注意点をまとめる。",
