| 内容記述 | My intention in this essay is to consider the ground for the aesthetics of language. Language consists of sounds and conceptual meanings. But in language musical elements are subsidiary to conceptual meanings. And this conceptual character of language is one of the greatest obstacles which literary writers must overcome. Hence figurative expressions-metaphors, images, and allegories are required. These symbolic expressions make meanings in language intuitive, vivid and intensive. And we can say successful symbols only come from the combination of the general and the individual in meaning. On this the success of literary works depends and the creative principle underlies it. | |||||||
