"野辺山ステーションの鳥類相について，伊那周辺の調査地と同じ手法で鳥類を調査，比較することにより把握することとした。伊那周辺では大河川の河畔から亜高山帯の森林まで，6地点を選んだ。調査法は植生の開度の記録を加えたラインセンサスとし，各調査地とも繁殖期，越冬期2回ずつ調査した。鳥類相は，優占種としては伊那周辺と類似していたが，水域の鳥類は見られず，平地から亜高山帯の鳥類が混在していた。代表的な鳥類としてはイワツバメ，モズ，カッコウ，ミヤマホオジロなど，伊那周辺で確認記録のない鳥類としてハギマシコ1種が挙げられた。野辺山ステーションの鳥類相と最も関連の強かったのは，標高の異なるますみヶ丘であり，土地利用形態の類似性が原因と考えられた。伊那周辺で認められた植生の開度と鳥類との関係は，野辺山ステーションでは崩れていた。原因として，圧倒的なサイズの群れをつくる鳥類の生息が考えられた。調査結果から，鳥類の多様性の高いエリアとして，水路のある原野2地点が指摘された。",
